Little Barn is situated in the village of Alvescot and has miles of open countryside on the doorstep!  One side is a village farm and the other a country lane for a short stroll to the village pub.

The datestone of this detached property states 1784 and now in 2008 we have a complete renovation that has created a welcoming holiday cottage with character in the many exposed beams, usage of natural wood and flagstone style flooring. You enter into a large entrance hall with stairs leading to the gallery; off the hallway is a spacious, open plan sitting/dining room with kitchen - very well equipped.  A ground floor double bedroom with en-suite makes this cottage ideal for those preferring not to use the stairs. On the first floor you have a large gallery landing with a double futon, two further bedrooms (one with a 'mind your head' beam over the door), a double and a twin plus a family bathroom with a very nice roll-top bath.

The garden is enclosed so great for the kids and pets; garden furniture is provided for the large patio area. Parking for 2/3 cars.

This is very much a family home so you can be sure of a 'home from home' welcome. The owner and his family enjoy the occasional weekend at the cottage and will leave basic essentials as well as room in the large US style fridge/freezer for guests to use.

Alvescot village is in west Oxfordshire just a few miles from many villages in the Cotswolds including Bampton and Burford.  The Cotwolds Wildlife Park is about a 10 minute drive and pretty Bourton-on-the-Water or Blenheim Palace at Woodstock, about 30 minutes or so.  To stock up on groceries you have Carterton a couple of miles away or Witney.   RAF Brize Norton is in close proximity for the plane spotters amongst you. Mid-way between Oxford and Cheltenham; reasonable access to the M4 for Bath and the West Country.
