Rurally located, you won’t be short of things to do when staying in this spectacular part of the country. In the Vale of the White Horse, Goosey is a rambling village perfect for Oxford (18 miles), Wantage (four miles), and Didcot for the express trains to London Paddington (13 miles). Burford, often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds' is a 20-mile drive through pretty places such as Buscot and Lechlade-on-Thames, whilst the nearest pub is in the village of Denchworth, which is about a ten-minute cycle ride or a 30-minute stroll down a quiet lane. The M4 is just half an hour away, so locations such as Windsor, Bristol and the South West are all easily accessible.
The entrance hall welcomes you into this grandiose property, with rooms in every direction. There are two dedicated lounge areas, one designed for families and children, and the drawing room, with just the adults in mind. The family lounge area features soft furnishings, a TV, books and a wood burning stove, and is an ample size if children have toys to play with, whilst the drawing room is more traditional, with elegant furnishings, a TV and an open log fire. The dining room has a large table to seat up to 12 people, and a breakfast table just around the corner to seat four; it’s the ideal space for large family dinners during your stay, spending time together and socialising. The kitchen is huge, complete with fantastic fittings and well-equipped with everything you could need, comprising of a range oven, electric oven and halogen hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room with a washing machine. Four of the six bedrooms are located on the ground floor: the first room has a king-size bed and built-in wardrobes, whilst the second is the master bedroom again with king-size bed and built-in wardrobes, but also an en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC. Bedroom three has a single bed, and the final bedroom on the ground floor is the family room, with one double bed and a bunk bed. The bathroom downstairs has a shower over bath and WC. Both bedrooms upstairs have separate stairs, assuring extra privacy; bedroom five is accessed via the main staircase, and has a king-size bed and a spacious bathroom across the landing with shower over bath and WC. Bedroom six, accessed via the stairs in the family lounge, has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC.
Outside, there is plenty of space in the beautiful gardens for kids to run around and play on the large lawn, and patio areas to relax in with garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. At the bottom of the garden is the summerhouse, ideal for an extra room for someone to sleep, or for the kids to play together; inside it there is a sofa bed, wood burner and pool table (although be aware there is no plumbing in the summerhouse). There is ample parking available.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
