There is mention of Fifield in the Doomsday book of 1086, a survey carried out for William the Conqueror. Fifield is close to Burford and other well known Cotswold villages of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. These villages offer cafes and restaurants for those wanting a light snack or a good quality meal and there are many pubs from which to choose from. You can visit the antiques and gift shops in Burford and Stow or the stroll alongside the river in Bourton-on-the-Water, feeding the ducks along the way. For the children there is the Cotswold Wildlife Park (just outside Burford), The Cotswold Farm Park over by Guiting Power and Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water, just to mention a few attractions.
