The Heart of England has some truly wonderful countryside, much of which is totally unspoilt and yet to be discovered. The counties of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire each have something to offer, and we have a wide choice of countryside cottages across all three.
In Worcester is Worcester Cathedral, which is a magnificent sight as it rises majestically above the River Severn, and in Hereford you have Hereford Cathedral, a beautiful building where people have worshipped and worked together for well over 1200 years. The ‘black and white’ trail of Herefordshire spans some 40 miles with some quite lovely examples of timber framed buildings and churches in their village settings.
Shropshire is a county that breathes history at every turn; Shrewsbury with 5th-century origins sits on a hill within a horseshoe loop of the meandering River Severn and 900-year-old Ludlow is a lively, unspoilt town with a splendid Norman castle. Stokesay Castle and the breathtaking Ironbridge Gorge are well worth a visit. Stunning walks include the Long Mynd, a dramatic ridge which stands high over the landscape and the Offa's Dyke long distance path.
From Broadway at the edge of The Cotswolds, across The Vale of Evesham and on to the Welsh Borders, you have the choice of modern shopping centres, quaint villages, river scenes and historical interests to experience. The options are endless with our country cottage holidays.
