Hosting the largest open air market in the Cotswolds, Moreton-in-Marsh is renowned as a hub for local produce, arts and crafts. Moreton-in-Marsh was founded sometime in the 13th century as a market town. Although many of the buildings in Moreton-in-Marsh are of 17th and 18th century origin, it is thought that the church in the town dates back to the 1600s. A market is still held in the centre of the town on Tuesdays. Other local attractions include gardens such as Batsford Arboretum, Hidcote Manor and Chastleton House, which was constructed during the Jacobean period and which has changed little since it was built, particularly in the last 100 years. For train enthusiasts, there is the steam Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway in nearby Toddington. Outings for the family include The Cotswold Falconry Centre, Birdland, the Cotswold Perfumery, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Farm Park, the Model Railway Exhibition and the Model Village.
