Watchfield is a village in the south of Oxfordshire, close to Swindon, Wantage and the Vale of the White Horse. Watchfield is also a good holiday base for Oxford, Cirencester, the Cotswolds, Bath and the West Country. The Valley of the White Horse is famous for the Bronze Age giant chalk carving on a hillside. From the top of the hill you can see for miles across the plains to the north into Oxfordshire. Wantage is a pleasant market town to stroll around and enjoy some lunch and some shopping. To the south is the wonderfully open Salisbury Plain with it's big skies.
