Delightful property set within spacious gardens, located at the foot of Long Mynd in the beautiful Shropshire Hills, ideal for enjoying a rural break in stunning countryside surroundings.
This property is located within the Shropshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set against the stunning backdrop of Long Mynd, an imposing heath and moorland plateau, which is maintained by the National Trust. Of course, there are plenty of scenic country walks to be enjoyed in the local area, but for guests who want to explore more of the area’s culture and history, there is plenty to see and do. The property is located in a tiny hamlet of around ten properties, but the nearby village of Wentnor offers a pub and convenient village shop, whilst the town of Craven Arms is around a twenty-minute drive away, offering an interesting array of shops and eateries.
Before you even enter this property, you will be able to immediately get a sense of just how special it is. Once inside, you will come to the spacious hallway, beyond which is the kitchen/diner, an impressively large space with two separate dining tables seating a total of fourteen guests. The kitchen itself is well-equipped with a double electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, radio, and CD player. The first of the property’s lounges is located past the kitchen/diner, and is a lovely light-filled room with large windows overlooking the garden, complete with comfortable seating, and a TV/DVD. A second lounge, in the form of a cosy snug room, can also be found on the ground-floor, and thanks to the sofa bed this can be converted into another bedroom, allowing the property to accommodate up to twelve guests (please note that there is a small supplement payable for parties of eleven or twelve guests). Two of the property’s bedrooms are located on the ground floor: a twin room and a double, next to which is a bathroom. Stairs from the lounge lead to two more of the property’s bedrooms: a stunning king-size room with a balcony overlooking the garden, as well as an en-suite bathroom. Opposite this room is a restful single bedroom, which benefits from an en-suite shower room with WC. At the other end of the house, there are two further sets of stairs leading from the entrance hall. One of these is a short flight which leads to another double and a twin room, as well as a bathroom. The second set of stairs leads to what is, perhaps, the house’s most impressive room: a huge 35 feet wide lounge/family room with an impressive vaulted ceiling and beams, an extensive library of books, table tennis, and a beautiful grand piano. This magnificent room is overlooked by a lovely galleried mezzanine area where guests will find a wind-up gramophone accompanied by a selection of 78 RPM records.
Outside, the property enjoys extensive gardens and orchards, as well as a terraced seating area perfect for al fresco dining. There is garden furniture provided, as well as a BBQ, parasols, a croquet selection, garden games, and even a timber Wendy house. There is parking for up to six cars, both on the driveway and in roadside parking bays.
